There are two customers in every transaction.
Your CPA chooses clients too. Here's how to be one they go to bat for.

Income tells you what came in. Net worth tells you what you kept. Add up what you own, subtract what you owe, and check it monthly. If it isn't growing, a bigger income won't fix it. It's the clearest single number for whether your money is working.
Owners often judge a year by revenue or by the tax bill. Neither tells you whether you're building anything. Net worth does, and it gives you and your CPA a shared scoreboard.
An owner grows revenue 30% but buys a new truck, a boat and a bigger house on credit. Income is up; net worth is flat. The monthly check catches that in month two, not in April.
These are my opinions, not gospel. Take this to a CPA who cares about you.

Rent your home to your business for 14 days or fewer a year and that rent can be tax-free to you. The paperwork is the whole game.
